Kumquats and Kowhai Planting

Today in Taiao Time the Year 4's planted Kowhai and Kumquat seeds to row into seedlings which we can sell at the Gala. The students carefully planted the seeds and now will look after them.

We needed to do some research about these plants which we will eventually put into a brochure to give to customers at the Gala.

Taiao time- Ribbons and Daffodils

The Year 4 Hub were out in force on Thursday. They made some silver beet seed ribbons which means we can plant some silver beet for our chickens to eat. Students had to fold the paper and paste the seeds  at the correct spacing so that the seeds can grow to their potential.

Then we went out to the Food Forest and did some weeding and planted a daffodil bulb each. I am sure the Forest will look amazing in the Spring with all the beautiful daffodils under the fruit trees.

The Year 4 students worked well and listened really carefully. It was interesting to see all the mushrooms growing at the moment. We just looked at them and left them alone for other people to see too.
